Plumed Whistling Duck

A new lightbox has been published on the OzImages website by Paul Ross. A brief description follows:I photographed this fascinating species of Duck recently at a nearby dam. A flock had landed and strolled around the area searching for food. However, two stayed and more recently I was lucky enough to see (but unfortunately not photograph) eight babies on the dam. I often hear them at night, as they fly by whistling – a long high pitched whistle. They are pretty birds with barred chestnut…
