Tornado at Lennox Head (Mike Greenslade)

Around 7.30 on 3rd June 2010 a mini tornado tore through the coastal town of Lennox Head, northern New South Wales. A weather phenomenon rarely seen on the East coast, the tornado damaged more than 30 houses, many irreparably. State Emergency Service volunteers were quickly on hand and teams from Country Energy worked tirelessly to restore power. I got there some time later but the power of the tornado was evident with roofs ripped off, many trees uprooted and caravans tossed around like toys

New lightbox about Lake Burley Griffin (Tony Miller)

I have just published a new lightbox featuring Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, the National Capital of Australia.It includes photographs of sailing, cycling, hot air balloons, the implosion of Canberra Hospital, wildlife, National Institutions and mood pictures.

Also published my first bookmark on Xomba featuring photographs of the 2003 Canberra Bushfires.

Gdansk, Poland

A brief description follows:A selection of stock images of the historic city of Gdansk on Poland’s Baltic coast, including the Long Market and the famous Gdansk Crane. Most of the buildings in these pictures were completely rebuilt after the medieval city was destroyed in WWII.

Ballooning in Cappadocia

A brief description follows:The Cappadocia landscape is utterly magical the best view of it is from a hot air balloon. We arrived at the site before dawn and took off just as the sun was rising, ideal for catching the first rays of sunlight on the surreal landscape below. Additional photos were taken from the ground of other balloonists.

Alhambra, Granada, Spain
